Baby booties and a few knitted items for premie babies...

Two pairs of baby booties and two pairs of children socks is finished.

I v finished two of the three pairs of the children's socks I m knitting on and have started on the third pair; I have to knit the heel and I m not sure if I m gonna knit my normal short row heel which you can find here.
This is only in Norwegian but do contact me and I ll help you if you want to try it in English.

I will show you and tell you what heel I decided to when I m done.
Here I have photos of the two finished pairs of socks , I v written what yarn I v used in one of the earlier posts.

Also I found out someone I know is expecting a baby girl so I wanted to knit a little quick present for her and I v always wanted to knit something for premature and ill babies so I decided to go for baby booties.
I v knitted two pairs now and am working on the third pair which I m making a little bit bigger.
The pattern says they should fit 0-6 months but I m not sure I think maybe 0-3 months is more accurate so I m trying to knit them one size bigger.
I ll let you know how many stitches and so on I have changed for the bigger size but the original pattern is here

Socks and more socks ; size 38 female and size 1/2 y old and 2/4 y old.....

Here is the first pair of socks I v knitted for  myself ; They are knitted with one thread of "step 6" and drops baby alpakka silk".
I cast on 52 stitches but note to myself on the next pair i can go down about 8 stitches atleast knitting with that combo of yarn.
They do however look pretty nice if I can say so myself.

These are a pair of childrens socks, well no its not yet a pair...........
Its one of each of what are suposed to be two pairs of childrens socks in size 1 - 2 y old and 2-4 y old but I started and finished one sock (the biggest one) but in the mean time I got some new yarn I was so keen to try that I started on the smaller sized sock so I could test it out so thats why I have one of each but as I m typing I have already started on the 2nd sock to 1-2 y old sized sock they will get theire matching partner soon.

I placed my knitting needles "around" the sock so you could see the size in proportion too.

The 1-2 y old  socks is knitted in Katia merino 100% [ 100% merino superwash in grey , colour 505 ]
mixed with Katia Darling  pure merino wool superwash [60% virgin wool and 40% polyamid , colour 206 ]

The 2-4 y old sized socks is knitted in Step 6 in blue ish colours and some different blue and turqouise thin alpaca wool in the striped on the rib.

Yeyyyyyy I m done with my very first pair of knitted socks !!

I m pretty proud of myself actually ; Is that very childish maybe?
I used about two skeins of "Sterk" yarn : It can be bought here. it says " Våre forhandlere " on the shops that sells it , I am sure if you email them they will be happy to ship overseas too if thats where you live.

Skappel sweater in size 2/3 y old

I m nearly done: I have to sort out the neck and I have the arms left.....
It should have been finished but I got hooked on finishing my sock.......

I havent prepped it or  anything its just taken up and put on the table for a photo; I will try my best to finish it soon.

Yeyyyy My first sock is finished..........

Now I just need to finish the other one so I have a pair hehe.
But honestly I am a bit proud as its the first sock I have made all by my self ( and some help from the internet)

I did add a post just the other day but I need to change something and also add the written English version on how to do the shortrow heel,....
I can add the quick read version and a bit more thorough one but I m waiting for a reply on if I can link to a video or if I have to make a video myself...
I m hoping I don't have to film myself .... that makes me nervous just writing about it lol

Some of the socks I v started on......

promise I will add a new photo in this post or a new one when they are finished but I managed at the kitting cafe on tuesday 13/11.2012 at .nostet mitt. a knitting shop not very far away from me.............
Well I ll be honest and tell you temptation got the better of me and I bought 2 new lovely pieces of yarn in "STERK " in a purple and a lovely jade green.
English speaking readers if you want to try this yarn I m sure you can ask on theire FB page how to buy this yarn, Its a lovely yarn but I think i will be trying to knit dobbel as its for me a bit thin when my hands are hurting but its not soooo thin its similar to crochet yarn.
Its really nice and soft and comes in amazing colours, especially I loved the jade colour.
If you look here you will se the yarn "STERK" and the colour I have is number 814 petrol and 817 Lilla and they match quite nicely.

A quick card I made......

"Skappel " sweater size 2/3 y old

Here is the photos of the beginning on my little sweater, I v gotten further now but here you can see some of it.
I have used Viking Eco Alpakka og Sandes soft alpakka.

Iv nearly done with the back, well I was done but while it has been left in the knitting bag it seems to have shrunk.LOL but I ll open it again and then knit a few extra centimeters and I have nearly knitted the front too I just have to finish the neck....
Will add more photos later :)

Another knitting project.........

I am also currently making a few cards quite similar to the one I learned on the stempel scrap (or what was it called.lol)
I ll add some photos of that later but I m  trying to get craft carton and some old postcards, I dont need the front just the back of them so if anyone knows where to get them or have some extras please do let me know.

Anyway this new project (apart from the sock knitting; there I have to wait a bit so I can get someone to help me with the heel..........)

I have decided to knit the small version of what is being called  "The skappel sweater"/ In Norwegian " Skappel genseren"

I just need bigger knitting needles and some yarn and I m desperately hoping some money will enter my account today.......................

If anyone would like I can translate the receipe but then I would need to know if anyone would like me too and also I have to ask permission from the Skappel family to give it out in English.
I think it should be fine as its a free recipe here in Norway though.

My last addiction................

I v started knitting socks again...........
I knitted quite a bit a long time ago but after i hurt my elbow really badly 6  years ago I had to stop but recently I thought I d give it a go again so I have started to knit socks.
That was my last project before I hurt my elbow but I only managed one sock......... Yes one whole one,lol.
So now I have started but I m struggling with the heel so I m trying to get someone to learn it to me...
I v taken some photos of the sock I v started with and my not very good attempt on the heel but will add the picture so you can see how awful it looked,
But the start looks ok, nothing complicated  just one normal stitch, one purl . one normal. then purl a while and then just normal but I have used 2 colours of pink.

Been to "stempelscrap" today..

Today I went to "stempelscrap". Its once a year and its certainly a while since I have had the chance to go .
I went to a class making a vintage inspired card with Heidi Augustson aka Filharmonica

It was a lot of fun, I was going to take photos while working on the card but forgot the memorycard to my camera(which I later found.lol) so I will add those photos later but will borrow a photo of the finished card from Heidi until I v got my own sorted.

 Well one thing I have to make clear even though i v put this post up saying I can make any card you want if you choose to purchase that from me I must make it clear that this is not a sales blog.
I v created this blog purely because I want to share what I make with other crafters.


Well  yes i do make my handmade cards for sale .......
I can  make handmade cards, as easy or plane you would like it or as complicated and blingy as your heart desires....

I can make single cards or i can make sets...

I make little paper baskets too which you can fill with what ever you want...If you look in the blog you will see ideas of what i have done and i can make them christmassy or even for Easter or a wedding, that is all up to you.

I love making things and it is so nice to hear if people like it so i would truly appreciate it if you would leave some comments, honestly you don't know how much it means to me when i see someone has opted to follow my blog or leave a comment or more.

I don't have a set price on my things but would agree one with you and it would all depend on how complicated it is and if you want a lot of "fancy" decor on it, i often use flowers, lace and diamonds and pearls on them but you can of course choose what ever you want on it.
It does cost a little bit  more buying my cards than getting one in the book shop but you will get something very special and you  can get it personalised and make it really suit the person you will be giving it too.
It will truly be a unique item you are getting.

I also make decorated canvases and you can choose if you want and "arty" one with me using my papers and other things like rubber stamping: i can do friendship ones or love ones or even something that tickles your funnybone.

OR i can make one with the possibility to add a photo.

If you choose the last option you can opt for sending me the photo you want on it with instructions on how you would like it as well as colour choice or i can make it ready for you too add the photo yourself.... All i need to know is the size of the photo you want to add. i will then supply you with what you need to attach it yourself, though it will be a bit different from the way i do it and i can not promise it will stay on it for as long mine would.

Don't get me wrong it wont fall off after a few weeks but i have other means to make it stay on than what i am capable to send you.


If you are a member at LHC i will give a slight discount..I mean i wont be making any money on this hobby lets face it ,lol but i do hope to make it cover most of my expenses on what i make.

We can agree on a price or i will be willing to swop for hair toys, anything is interesting but that is something we have to agree on before i start making anything.


That also goes for the price if you opt for paying.


And this is not because i don't trust you but i will ask for 50% before i start making anything and then the rest of it when you have received the card or what i am making.


This might change though , i might choose later on to get it all pre payed and even if you decide you dont like the card i will still need to get payed for my time and supplies on it.


If i can use it myself for something else i will only charge you 50%.

EASEL CARD WITH A TINY CALENDAR ATTACHED

 Its very clever as you can keep the card out, it serves more than one purpose.I guess when you receive a card it normally ends up in a drawer somewhere but since this has this little calendar on its a lot nicer to keep it out maybe on a shelf, ontop of an open fire or somewhere else you display nicknacks and other objects.
I abselutely love the paper i have use, i bought a 12 x12 pack at hobbycraft, i cant remember the name but i can find out and add that information later.
Also this 60s tilda i think shes called i have been wanting for ages and its just recently i found it on ebay so i ordered this one and 2 others but i havent used them yet.
If your wondering where i get my personals rubberstamps from that is ofcourse on ebay too, as far as i know its not many who does it and especially not as reasonable priced, if i remember correctly he is called "longchai" or something like that anyway and i highly recomend him, i have bought severeal rubberstamps of him and they are always really great.
The butterfly is from the EK butterfly punch and the flowers are ebay flowers from wild orchid crafts: they have lots of awsome flowers in every size and colour, they also have their own website.
